God bless you,
It’s a new week, a fresh start to achieve something new. To do something you never did before so you can access something you never have before. Last I was scrolling true some photos on instagram and I read this quote:
“If you want something you’ve never had before, you’ve got to do something you’ve never done.” – D. Reed
While I was reading it, my mind began to spin and in instant I thought about a man called Zacchaeus. The Bible tells us a story of a man called Zacchaeus in Luke 19:1-10 KJV
1 And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. 2 And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. 3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. 4 And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way. 5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house. 6 And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully. 7 And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner. 8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord: Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. 9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
If I recall Zacchaeus was short of stature so he couldn’t see Jesus while He was passing through Jericho. He never saw Jesus before and decide that he wanted to know Him. But ofcourse he was short so that was never going to happen with the multitude at the place. The only thing Zacchaeus could think of at the moment is to climb a tree. So he didn’t know Jesus but wanted to know Him. (If you want something you’ve never had before, you’ve got to do something you’ve never done.) So when Zacchaeus was at the top of the tree, Jesus called Him by name and saith unto him I will stay at your house. He didn’t know Jesus, but Jesus knew him and called him by name: Zacchaeus. He received Jesus with a joyfull noice. And today was his day. I hear this line you can’t serve two gods and when you serve the Lord the bad has to flee and something must change in you. Zacchaeus received transformation. He decided to give half of his possession to the poor and what he had take from man by false accusation he will restore that. (a way to ask for forgiveness) Zacchaeus was free to praise the Lord and was now called a son of Abraham. How many of us want Jesus to abide in our house… If so seek after Him with great desire and you will find Him. Long after His presence. Don’t be comfortable in the stage you are now with God, go higher. If you can fast 1 day try to fast 2. If you can pray for 10 min try to go more. If you can read your bible, try to studied now. Grow in your spiritual life, experience God on a other level. Many of us including myself play candy crush, when you pass a level you want to move on, you try and try till you got it right. This attitude we must have for God.
With loving regards,
