God bless you this morning so you may have in abundance.
As many of us know life isn’t that easy as we think it will go. We deal with loss of people, position and possession. Sometimes it is a loss of people in inner circle or it is a friend but we have to deal with the loss. Some people come into our lives just to help us reach or grow in a certain part towards or destiny. We loose a position or a status from married to widow. Or if it is in your job from department manager to be a salesman. If it is possession we speak of houses, cars or other things of great value that can be destroyed by a storm. In all these things we have to make sure we never loose our praise. We never take God for granted. God is whom gave it to us so He can and will give back to us. We have to learn that some things are not meant to stay forever, they are temporary to help us move forward. So when deal with loss of people, position or possession don’t shallow into it. I have lost possession in a hurricane, our house flood with water and all I can do at the moment at the moment is thank God the house is still standing even though we had to put new stuff in it. Blessed be His name. Stand up give God praise and move forward. Praise is something you can never loose. You may think it is easy for me to say but it is not. I have dealt with loss of a miscarriage, loss of great friendships, loss of a great leader Pastor in my life, but through all of this I didn’t give up. I didn’t loose my praise. Today I have two beautiful daughters, people I can count on to help me grow spiritually and I have a great leader Pastor a powerful man of God who guides me.
Biblical we can look at some Characters, I will pick two. Naomi and Job.
First of all Naomi was married and had two sons. Naomi and her husband Elimelech fled out of their land because there was hunger there. They went from Belen to Moab. In Moab they lived for years. It came to pass that Elimelech, Naomi’s husband passed away. She was left with her two sons whom took them wives, woman of Moab. But also Mahlon and Chilion (sons of Naomi) died also both of them; and the woman was left of her two sons and her husband. Naomi was left with her daughters-in-law. Orpah and Ruth. She arise and command them to return to their homeland. We can read in the book of Ruth that Orpah went back but Ruth cling to her and said. Your land will be my land and your Lord will be my Lord. Naomi heard that her Lord was in Belen and that there was food for them there.
Conclusion: Naomi lost People and Position but she didn’t lost her praise at first she wasn’t joyful about it but at the end of the book of Ruth she will be rewarded. Naomi when back to her Lord, she recognise she needed the Lord to move forward. She didn’t dwell upon the losses in her life she continue living. Ruth 1-4
Then we can take a look at Job. Job 1:13-19 Highlight verse 20-21 KJV
Job had it all, he was a perfect and upright man. Job had seven sons and three daughters. (Jobs story)
13 And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house: 14 And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them: 15 And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.16 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. 17 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. 18 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house: 19 And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
So Job lost everything but everything he had. But this didn’t keep Him from Praising God. This were Job words in verse 20-21;
20 Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped, 21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.
So Job praised the Lord even though he lost everything. He said naked I came out of my mother womb, and naked I shall return thither; the Lord gave, and the Lord taken away. This take great strength, but Job choose to move forward with what he had left and that was his praise. He didn’t dwell in loss but in praise.
Don’t ever loose your praise, because it is your praise that will release new things.
With loving regards,
