God bless you,
Today I just want to stand still to the fact that God repeatedly is telling me/you in the New Testament that whoever has ears, to let them hear what the Holy Spirit is saying. God knew that we wouldn’t listen because He also said to me/you” if you hear His voice,
do not harden your hearts…” (Hebrews 3:8,15)
The first time the sentence “Whoever has ears, let them hear” is written to me/you is in Matthew 11:15. The second time is in Matthew 13:9-18. Jesus is talking in parables here. Thou the word of God is for everyone, it speaks more to those who accept it, because in verse 13 the scripture gives the reason why Jesus is talking in parables. (“Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.) This is a prophecy spoken long before Jesus. Isaiah said in chapter 6:9-10
9 He said, “Go and tell this people:
“‘Be ever hearing, but never understanding;
be ever seeing, but never perceiving.’
10 Make the heart of this people calloused;
make their ears dull
and close their eyes.[a]
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts,
and turn and be healed.”
The third time is in the book of Mark 4:23 “If anyone has ears to hear, let them hear.”
Afterwards this verse is repeatedly written in Revelation 2:7,11,17,29.
In Revelation 2:7 NIV
7 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.
Now here is something promising about this scripture; 1) out of fear for God you will listen and obey Him – 2) those whom live this way, will conquer and be victorious – 3) when you are VICTORIOUS, God will give you the right to eat from the tree of life – 4) which is in the paradise. (and you know that not everyone will get this access) You have to work hard to get there. You have to listen to God in order for you to get there. You need vision to see what God is wanting you to see. You need to have the heart that pleases God’s desires.
And finally Matthew 13:16 “16 But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.”
Listen to God’s voice do not despise the Lord’s discipline, and do not resent His rebuke, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.(Proverbs 3:11-12)
With loving regards,
